What Is Business Dinner Etiquette?
It’s relatively common to meet with business colleagues to share a meal, whether you’re on a business trip together, interviewing for a position or discussing the company’s next move. No matter what the reason, it’s important to show proper etiquette at the table. Though a general rule of thumb (общее, проверенное правило) is to follow the lead (последовать примеру) of the person hosting the dinner, it’s smart to know what to expect.
Preparation
If necessary, prepare for the dinner before it begins. For example, if you are expected to give a speech, brainstorm ideas or report on details of the business, research and prepare this ahead of time. Write any necessary notes on small note cards, which will be less obtrusive (мешающий) at the dinner table than standard paper. Additionally, look up the location of the restaurant ahead of time (заранее) and plan to arrive early, so as not to keep your colleagues waiting.
