Past Continuous Tense. Use #4: Temporary Habits
We use the past continuous (often with words such as “always”, “constantly” and “forever”) to talk about habits that started and finished in the past and also to convey (выражать) irritation (similarly with present continuous).
Example: He was always leaving towels on the bathroom floor.– Он всегда оставлял полотенца на полу в ванной.
Example: She was constantly not answering her phone.- Она постоянно не отвечала на звонки.
