Social skills that you might need for career success
5. BE GRATEFUL
A very important skill is to thank others for what they have given you or done with you. For example, we sometimes spend time with people who ask for advice or some help. We might be delighted to do this for another person, but when there’s no follow-up “thank you”, it’s disheartening (разочаровывает). This is common courtesy. Saying “thank you” holds for (будет правильно для) job interviews, professional conversations, networking chats, and even encounters with friends.
You don’t necessarily have to send a handwritten note—although such notes can speak volumes (говорить о многом). But by all means send a message that explains how much you got out of the meeting, and how grateful you are. If it’s an email, send it within hours of your meeting.
