How to Get Credibility at the Workplace
1. Stop asking for favors. Never lead a request for help with, “Will you do me a favor?” (окажите мне услугу, будьте другом) Instead, say, “What do you think the best solution for this problem is?” Invite input (вклад, участие) without acting as if you want your employees or co-workers to do the work for you. Have a helpful attitude without expecting anything in return.
2. Organize your calendar, desk — even your life. Stop telling people about your personal problems and get a handle on (контролируйте) your emotions. Keep the workspace for which you’re responsible neat. If you have to go searching for a lost file or insist troubleshooting home issues from the office phone, you look disorganized and less credible.
3. Watch your self-talk (внутр. диалог, отношение к себе). If you’re hard on yourself, others will be, too. Act confident: Showing weakness at work makes you lose credibility.
