An Event Dedicated To Moscow’s 872nd Anniversary
On 7 September theatre lovers should go to the Hermitage Garden. Throughout the day, 11:00 am till 10:45 pm, there will be performances by 14 Moscow theatres. Admission is free.
For poetry fans, the Pushkin Theatre has prepared a programme ‘You Cannot but Invent Love’ («Любовь не выдумать нельзя»), where theatre actors read out (читать вслух) poems by contemporary (современный) poets. The Taganka Theatre will present a concert version of Maxim Didenko’s ‘Run, Alice, Run’, this year’s Golden Mask Award winner. The Moscow Ballet Theatre will show ‘Kreutzer Sonata’ by the Canadian choreographer Robert Binet, as well as a performance for children — ‘Dance Designer’ («Танц-конструктор») with fragments of the ballet ‘Thumbelina’ («Дюймовочка») and a master class.
The Orchestra of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre will perform ‘Tales of Pushkin’ («Сказки Пушкина»). The musicians will play pieces by Mikhail Glinka, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Anatoly Lyadov. Tinto Brass Band will play popular jazz compositions, world classics, waltzes and children’s songs in unusual arrangements.
