Business Etiquette in International Countries
United States
A primary component of the U.S. business culture is punctuality. Although other cultures don’t watch the clock when it comes to meeting clients and co-workers, Americans believe punctuality is a sign of respect. The importance of deadlines is also a subculture in U.S. business; they are strictly followed.
Casual relationships (легкие взаимоотношения) with regard to hierarchy is something the U.S. business culture enjoys that isn’t seen in other business cultures. People are typically on a first-name basis (обращаются друг к другу по имени) at work, regardless of their respective positions.
Worldwide
The continued globalization of businesses makes it imperative (непременно, очень важно) to understand and respect each others’ business cultures and subcultures. Whether it’s about dress code, handshakes or gift buying, the more business people learn about other cultures the better they can work together.
