Modal Verbs To Talk About Future Possibility
May, might and could are used to express future possibility. In this situation they have the same meaning.
Examples: 1. The store may open at 10 tomorrow. 2. The store might open at 10 tomorrow. 3. The store could open at 10 tomorrow. — Магазин, может быть, откроется завтра в 10 часов.
We use may not/might not when we suppose something won’t happen.
Examples: 1. We might not stay in this hotel for long. 2. I may not be able to come tomorrow. — 1. Возможно, мы не останемся в этом отеле надолго. 2. Я может быть не смогу прийти завтра.
In questions other forms are preferable.
Example: Will the store open at 10? — Магазин откроется в 10 часов?
