A Basic Recipe
Tea has so many health benefits, and iced tea is no exception. Both green and black tea pack serious amounts of disease-fighting antioxidants, but green tea also offers a small amount of sun protection to your skin. For the healthiest brew (заварка), make it yourself — you can control the sweetness and flavour.
Make some tea in a heatproof pitcher (теплостойкий кувшин) or large bowl. Add any aromatics (that you’ll remove later), such as lemon or orange peel, fresh berries or even herbs like thyme or rosemary. Pour over the right calculation of boiling water, and let it steep (погрузиться в воду) for up to ten minutes. Remove and discard tea and aromatics, then transfer it to a fridge and let it cool. Add ice right before serving. You can also decorate your fresh-made ice tea with mint leaves, basil or a slice of lemon.
