An illusion of the river with circles on the water is to be created on Okskaya metro station (Nekrasovskaya Line).
“The architects were inspired by Okskaya Street, named after (названа в честь) the Oka River, located nearby. Blue was chosen as the main colour for the station’s design. The ticket office hall, lobbies and platform will have all shades of blue. The ceiling will be the station’s highlight, assembled of blue panels, with 5 m round led lamps illuminating the room,” said Moscow’s Chief Architect Sergei Kuznetsov.
The walls will be made of porcelain stoneware (керамогранит), with light grey granite used for the floor, and the ceiling lined with aluminium.
Okskaya station is currently under construction in the South-Eastern area. According to the design, it will have one exit — to Okskaya Street and Ryazansky Prospekt.
